Preservation and Education of the history of Rostraver Township, one of the original townships in Westmoreland County when the county was formed in 1773.  Rostraver Township is also the site of Pennsylvania’s worst mining disaster that took place in 1907. The historical society displays one of the finest mine antiquities collections in Westmoreland County.  The Civil War enthusiast will also love one of the area’s best Civil War Collections also displayed at the society. Monthly historical presentations are held from February to December, held the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 PM. Open to the public.
