The Department of Recreation shall be responsible for the administration of the parks and recreation programs and facilities in the Municipality.

The Department of Recreation is headed by the director, Carly Greene, who shall be responsible to the Chief Administrator for the performance of the function of the Department. The duties of the director are to:

• Administer and expand existing recreation programs.
• Prepare proposals for the development of new recreation programs.
• Establish and maintain effective communications with school districts, service clubs and athletic organizations to promote coordination of resources and facilities.
• Work with the Department of Public Works to ensure maintenance of park facilities.
• Prepare detailed proposals for the acquisition or development of new park and recreation facilities or modifications of existing facilities.
• Assist in the development of the annual operation and capital improvement budget as they pertain to the park systems and recreation programs.
