Freeport Theatre Festival warmly invites the community to open its 36th summer season with a new historical drama honoring the bicentennial of St. Mary’s R.C. Church in Freeport. Set between 1826 and 1905, the production brings to life a story of spirit, faith and perseverance, celebrating the people who built the church and helped shape the community through generations of change.

The production also offers a meaningful way to celebrate the nation’s semi quincentennial year, honoring American spirit, local heritage and the enduring strength of community. Audience members of all ages are welcome and are encouraged to wear red, white and blue. A door prize will be awarded for the most patriotic attire.

Performances begin Friday, July 10, and continue through Sunday, July 26. Shows will be held Fridays and Saturdays at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m., offering families, friends and neighbors several opportunities to gather for this special summer event.

Tickets are $15 for general admission, $12 for military members and seniors, $10 for students and free for active-duty military personnel.

Presented in the Festival’s barn theatre on the Steele farm, the production offers an intimate and welcoming setting for a heartfelt tribute to local history, faith and community.
