Take a journey through the museums of the Ligonier Valley!
Six of Ligonier’s historical and cultural landmarks have again collaborated to offer “Free Museum Day – Art and History Through the Valley.” Free admission will be provided to all visitors at Antiochian Heritage Museum, the Ligonier Valley Historical Society’s Compass Inn Museum, Fort Ligonier, Ligonier Valley Rail Road Museum, Lincoln Highway Experience, and Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art. Unique and interactive programs and activities are planned at each of the participating sites. Please use #LigonierMuseumDay !

Antiochian Heritage Museum- Explore the museum's colorful new exhibit: One Ancient Faith/two Contemporary Artists. Sample delicious bread and enjoy hands-on wheat activities that relate to the "Bread of Life" theme. Track down the camels hidden throughout the displays for a chance to win a prize.
Compass Inn Museum- Journey to the 1830s... heyday of stagecoach travel in the East. Experience the sights, sounds, and smells as history comes alive at the inn. Enjoy cooking, blacksmith demonstrations, and traditional games. Visit with a draft horse like the ones used to pull a stagecoach!
Ligonier Valley Rail Road Museum- Tour the restored Darlington Train Station and the 1905 Bobber Caboose. Join the conductor as he takes the kids "All Aboard!" for a fun trackless train ride. Children can see the museum's rare artifacts while having their face painted.
Lincoln Highway Experience- Get moving, get outdoors! be the first to play with the Big Blue Blocks. Tour the museum and view the award-winning film Through the Windshield. Ride the 'Lincoln Highway' across the USA on a Cannondale bike. Little ones can sit in a period Fire Engine Pedal Car—a perfect photo op!
Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art- Stroll through the museum's lovely gardens to discover Mother Nature's art. Inspiring young artists can create their own little garden-to-go. Step inside the museum and encounter the inspirational works of Dennis Sheehan—known for his contemporary realist landscapes that evoke a moody beauty and deep peace of nature.
